In this episode Caylen and Phil build on the previous; going a bit deeper into their philosophy on the mindset of the sniper and the shooter. This time they dig into what it means to be a volunteer, and all the responsibility that comes with being a member of a volunteer unit. The conversation moves into touching on ego, what it is, and the cop out of telling someone to put their ego aside without fully understanding it’s meaning and how it affects performance.

Ego, like all tools, can be used correctly or incorrectly. This was a very substantial podcast. Side note: I got into the online courses inside the first 200 and I'm glad I have. Excellent stuff, guys.

The ego part of this podcast hit home. I shot competitive archery all through middle and high school and now shoot NRL22. I have always been the guy who acts ridiculous when he misses a shot and trys to make excuses. I'm now slowly coming to realize all that does it make myself look like a complete egotistical asshole and ends up costing myself more points throughout the match. I watch how our top shooters handle a miss and they just laugh it off and go on.
