In this episode, Caylen and Phil open up with some housekeeping items, such as our current In-Person class schedule from now until March 2021. On the books, we currently have classes in Yakima, Virginia, Texas, Florida and California! If you're interested in any of those please head to the Modern Day Sniper website to find out more information. They also talk about the Modern Day Rifleman Virtual Summit which consumed most of their time this summer. The summit will consist of 25 guest speakers (who are also subject matter experts to their specific niche), carefully chosen in the industry, to talk about and share what they're most passionate about. Caylen and Phil also talk about the recent dumpster fire that consumed the social media platforms of certain snipers and the unspoken rule of being a sniper and the burden of representing yourself as a professional, if choosing to use the "sniper" for fame or monetary gain. Thanks for listening and please visit the Modern Day Rifleman Virtual Summit to get your free ticket today! Keep your face on the gun!

I’ll admit I’m in the boat of being reluctant to wear a “modern day sniper” shirt. I was a pig for 3 years and a platoon sergeant for snipers for 2. Still active duty and shooting PRS style matches, I wouldn’t want to give the wrong vibe.

Holy crap that interview with Jayden Quinlan had some great information in it. I always wondered if Ballistic Calculators took into account the elevation of the bullet when figuring in the trajectory, but didn't know if it was large enough to make a difference. Also I didn't know about the zero angle, it was something I haven't played with.

I knew of the individual before that very bad shooting video and there was a positive portrait in the early days but I think to many trips to lala land has skewed that in a big way. I have been following the American shooting community for many years in order to break away from the old my grandfather shot like that and reloaded like this mentality that is prevalent here in South Africa and I can honestly say that there are a handful of individuals that stand out and are spoken highly of by other individuals from a social media and reports perspective and I saw that first hand as the small circle that I am following and learning from all acknowledged each other while the crazy stuff fell by the way side. You guys joined that circle of influence and I can say I am better for it. Thank you again for the work you do.

I didn't realize there was a character limit. Heres the rest of that: and the different ways the Army approached things vs the Marines, and what factored into those decisions (environment, theater, deployment dynamics) I realize that this may be a topic that can't be talked about, but I figured I wouldn't know if I didn't ask, and it might even be something outside of the direction of the podcast. Love the content so far.

As a civilian I had the impression that the current Afghanistan and Iraq conflict was a major turning point in the way snipers were deployed, and it seems like there were two different approaches by the Marines and the Army. At least from my perspective (and I could be totally wrong as I didn't follow that closely) it seems like the Army went towards the AR10/AR15 platform, and the Marines stayed with the M40 platform. Maybe I'm wrong, but I was just wondering if you guys could talk about that

On a different note, has anyone reached out to the LunkersTV guy? He seems to be in a bad way, he seems to be on drugs. Maybe not maybe that's just the way he is, but I get an uneasy feeling from it like he might harm himself.

I appreciate the Modern Day Rifleman vs the Modern Day Sniper thing. I probably wouldn't wear anything with Sniper on it just because I don't want to be somewhere and be harassed and accused of something in wearing. (Generally since I'm fat and out of shape most merch isn't in my size anyways) it has stopped me from buying other things before.
