Great episode. I have a few questions, I'm a civilian, always have been so it's coming from that, not having any military experience. It seems inefficient to let a instructor with fresh combat experience go because of an injury, especially when there seems to be a large shift in tactics. Was the knowledge gained in combat making it's way back to the states quickly and training already being modified to better suit the environment? Did they ask for any input before you were discharged? Seems like your experience could have still been used with a injured knee. I don't know maybe that's just not how the military does things, just seems like you could have provided valuable insight. Maybe you did but that wasn't the impression I got, but I understand I could be completely wrong and it was just skipped over as well.
